If he is that heavy he is probably really out of shape, so he wont be going out on class IV  V right now.

So get an Approach. It is big enough to fit almost anyone and can work well on class III. It isnt really a whitewater boat, but it can get you down the river when you cant fit in anything else.


I seriously doubt there is anything else that will work unless he likes being really really cramped up in a boat.
