Plus it was a busy holiday weekend with all the luggage it wasn't gonna go across the country for me. My Chico is 90 inches long.
I am founding out the baggage containers are the issues with smaller planes too. Kayaks need special permission and the large airbusses. Cargo will only go if you already have a cargo account with the airline - can't do private.
Try this. They were the cheapest I found and know of others that have used this. They are ground transportation despite the name Forward air. Looking at their locations - they are in many, many cities.
