I have worn a Cascade full coverage with a face mask ($75)  for years, and it saved me from broken teeth and possibly a broken nose or jaw on a remote Alaskan creek run. It has also prevented a paddle blade edge hit across the bridge of my nose in an eddy more than once. I just bought a new ShredReady Standard fullface ($99) that fits nice. I'm looking forward to using on my next paddling weekend. I've seen at least three facial injuries on class III play runs in the past year that would have been prevented by masks or faceguards. Most recent accident resulted in rock hit to a bicuspid that cut through a lip and broke off at the gum line. Fortunately, a talented ER doc and dentist will restore her pretty smile.
