I really dig the Jefe and also use a drift and finesse-the-boat style most of the time. In my experience all of the previous LL boats worked best with a lean forward charging style, but for me the Jefe works sweetly as a drifter and I actually had to let up on the throttle when first getting used to it (found myself over-boofing it). I also had my first two demo runs on the UY and liked it on my first run, but had some of those exact same initial dislikes as well. The next day I let the boat and lower body do more of the work with the water than the stick and it magically clicked for me. You should try it one more time: don't charge, but don't go to the backseat either; just coast along and really focus on staying loose but locked in the hip/knee area, exaggerate your leans a bit, and use little reactionary ninja strokes as needed. Hope that makes sense. Good luck!
Cheers,
JDM
