...I was impressed with the set up for Gorge Games. Granted, it was my first GG, and I did not take part in the extreme race, so i cannot comment on how fairly that was run, given issues with the timers. However, I can say, for the boater-cross womens division, the race was run impartial, unbias and with accuracy. I too had to do a re-run, even tho i won my heat, but honestly, who cares? If you know + trust your skills, it shouldn't really matter.
As for lambasting John, its total BS. He, the judges, Sam and the TV crew did a great job. They are voulenteers and without them, there would have been no event. While i agree with constructive critism, Jim's comments were way off the mark, IMO. So thanks John (and the blonde lady who was helping you), Sam, judges; I had a highly entertaining weekend thanks to all of you!
I'm not a hood river local and have never bought or demo-ed anything for kayak shed, and I was treated as fairly as all other competitors.
