Knock on wood...I've never stubbed my toes or had a stick poke thru my foot in my Keens. I have broken a toe while wearing an open-toed style sports sandal and had to provide 1st Aid to a guy that had 1.5 inches of pine shoved into his foot by his big toe. Not pretty. Granted, I'm a bit clumsy but I'll not chance it anymore. Keens are the best choice! As long as you've got some Dr. Bronner's peppermint soap to wash 'em. :)
