Yesterday my wife and I went up to camp and fish above 11,000 feet; a trip requiring 10 or 12 miles of 4 wheel drive roads.  I left my racks on the truck.

This evening when loading the boat for tomorrow I discovered that all the jolting had shaken the bolt out of one ot the rack towers.  Granted, my racks are as old as the truck (212k miles) but it might be worth your time to peek at your racks. I do check mine out from time to time but better safe than sorry.

note That's one long 4x4 trip! I had my racks slide backwards about a foot last year. 2 of them had come loose. <NT> fahimaz7 New
