I wanted to post a message showing what a fine group of rafting companies we have in the Upper/Lower Yough region.

A friend of mine lost her paddle on the Cheat at Colliseum (epic story on that one) and posted the loss.  Her name was on "duct tape" and was pretty destroyed over time.  A raft guide found the paddle, looked up her paddling club in Michigan ( there was a sticker on the paddle) and the club was able to contact her almost 3 months later.  I just picked it up from Precision Rafting on the Upper Yough this weekend.

In my infinite wisdom on Sunday, I neglected to put my waistbag throw rope back on after a lunch stop.  I didn't notice the loss until I tried to tie down the kayaks at the new and improved "trailer" at the take out.  Later that evening I got a call from Wilderness Voyagers saying a guide had found my throw bag and they had it at the shop.

Now I have to thank Susan at WV and Kevin (big bird) at PRE for being honest individuals and looking out for other people.  I wonder how many people would scratch out names and just scam the free river bootie.  Those people are honest and are one of the many that give boaters a good name.

Thanks again to all of the honest people on the river and I'll try to keep an eye on my own gear from now on.

Paul
