Having paddled boats like the CFS, Nomad and the Mamba for years, I really didnt think I would be that stoked on the Habitat 74. Truth is, it is the best allround creekboat I have ever paddled. Big drops, low-volume slides, techincal class four, cruising class three, full on class five, safetykayaking, big volume, it simply handles everything well. I have paddled most of the other kayaks mentioned in above threads, and none of them are even close to the Habitat in overall performance. I think what I enjoy the most is the speed of the kayak, and how it surfaces after drops, (very stable, and usually right side up...) but also the outfitting is great and the safety features good. Simply put: Quality.
And no, I am not paid by wavesport to say this.
Cheers,
