Hello everyone. I just recently thought I might get into kayaking, as I need a summer sport to help me fill the time I can't be skiing, and I grew up in Cascade ID rafting, but have always wanted to get into kayaking but never have.
Anyway, I've been using boater talk for the last couple months to just research boats and gear and I think I'm ready to buy a kayak but I'm just nervous cause I really don't know for sure what I'm doing. So, heres my question if anyone can help me out. Someone offered me a Habitat 80, with a snapdragon skirt, and a Ty Warp Beam Bent shaft paddle all for 800$ I haven't seen them yet, just pictures via email, but they look like all used gear does to me. I can see some minor looking dings but thats it. The kayak has supposedly been used 15-20 times.
So this sounds like an okay deal isn't it?
Also, he'll throw in a Perception Arc with a "good" skirt and a "basic" paddle for an extra 200 dollars, this also sounds like a good deal doesn't it? I could use two kayaks because I have 2 cousins that are also looking for kayaks, so if this is worth 200 dollars, they'd be willing to buy it from me.
Anyway, I've researched the Habitat alot, I purposely want a creekboat, and it seems to get awesome reviews. I'm not interested in playboats at all, so these should be good boats for me right?
Any help would be awesome, I don't want to get ripped off on my first attempt to get into such an awesome looking sport.
