Upper-Middle-Lower Gauley - Makes a great 2 day trip but camping can be somewhat hard to find as a lot of the nice camp spots in the middle section are occupied by rafting operations.

South Branch-Middle-Lower-Bottom Moose - Never done it, but I think it would be awesome.  It's something like 45 miles and is fairly remote until the bottom besides a few buildings at Mckeever.  Look for high water to make the south branch flatwater go by quickly.

Oswegatchies and Grasses - There's overnight potential on a few of the branches, the problem is getting water when the weather is conducive to overnighters.

However, as was already mentioned, Quebec is your best bet for getting remote multi-days on the east coast.  Stuff like the Magpie and Romaine are supposed to be world class big water, with world class black flies.

Jim
