	i'm 200lbs and give my gear lots of abuse. the plastic has held up very well and the hull is still as flat as it was new. i think that the general consensus is that jackson plastic is above average, but the quality might have changed through different years/models. the ankle shots might have more to do with bow shape than plastic quality. if anything i would think that softer plastic might better absorb a hit and lessen the blow. if you get a boat with the happy feet (or sad feet to many of us) you could really soften hits.
