My wife is increasing her boating after years of being relatively inactive in the sport. She has always had a very good roll but since she has switched to a Little Joe she has been having difficulty due to the high sides. However other than that she loves the boat and almost never flips.
The problem is that she has been unable to practice rolls. As soon as she is upside down she starts feeling nauseated. She doesn't notice it if she flips while running the river, but if she is trying to practice she feels ill after the 2nd or 3rd attempt, has to stop and then feels like crap for hours afterwards.
At one point we thought it was due to pool chemicals and/or the bath warm water during the winter rolling sessions, but when we went out to practice in cool, good quality river water the same thing happened again.
Needless to say, if she can't practice her roll, her boating enjoyment is definitely going to be limited. Anybody else experience this and/or have any suggestions? She didn't used to have this problem at all, but it's been years since she has done any real practice. We've known about the pool problem for a few years, but now that she's getting out more we see the problem on the river as well.
TIA,
Bud
