I don't know much about shortening a paddle but the first one I ever bought was a used werner that had been shortened at the blade. I ran a drop and the blade didn't come off, but the epoxy that they used broke and the blade spun around the shaft like a revolving door. It resulted in some pretty scary roll attempts because I couldn't get the blade flush to the water and it kept slicing through. Eventually I had to throw the paddle away for a hand roll. Long story short I think the only way would probably be to cut it in half, which sounds kind of dumb and scary and i'm sure voids any kind of warantee the paddle has. Maybe you can find someone bigger than you that wants to buy your nearly new paddle? |
