	The group I was with said it was $5 last year, but free this year, and it was free on Sunday.  Sunday was my PFD on the Upper, so I just b a r e l y know what I'm talking about.  The actual week of Gauley fest may be different - although nobody mentioned that and I was led to believe it'll be free all year.  Paying the $5 would be worth it in my opinion - that hike would be a bitch even with a playboat (which I don't own).  And if they trail was slick from rain or anything it would get seriously sketchy.
