and paddled the Lower Big Sandy within 10 days. This was after the surgeon and my regular eye doctors looked at the eyes and gave me the thumbs up. Generally, however, they tell you it might be a month. If you heal fast (like me, apparently), it's a lot quicker than that.

There's more relevant information.

On the 22nd (day before my surgery), I had a bug fly smack into my right eyeball while trail running. The surgeon confirmed that there was a small scratch on the cornea, but assured me that it wouldn't be an issue. I'm not sure if it had anything to do with it (perhaps a bit of swelling threw off the precision of the procedure?), but the post-surgery vision in my right eye was (slightly) less than perfect so I had an enhancement done on Feb 1, '08.

Things looked to be perfect, but a month later my right vision was a bit hazy and it's been that way ever since. I now go back to the laser center on a monthly basis because there is scar tissue on my cornea where the corneal flap is healing. I guess there's an overlapping of tissue there which makes vision hazy. It's still better than before the surgery, and even better than my vision was after the initial surgery and there's a chance that the scar tissue will go away at some point and things will be perfect.

Point being, there are things that can go wrong and the more times you have your cornea ripped open, the greater the likelihood of problems.

Good luck!
