idea Reguarding the Chatooga headwaters alternative- feedback requested New

I know alot of people are at Gauleyfest and won't read this or may later, I'll probably post it again later next week.  Instead of some BS about mean daily cfs flow, say anytime flow hits above 1.8 ft or whatever 450 cfs comes up to on the online gauge boating should be allowed for 12 hrs thereafter in a window, reguardless of the time of year.  This would take care of the complicated, User sizes and impacts could be monitored initially over a two or three year period by the permit system already currently in place for the other sections and then evaluated to see if there is a need for user caps per day but not restricted arbitrarily.  It probably will turn out that caps are not necessary.  The other issues on other sections not addressed,  I'm not privy to all the details but something about other sections and private landowners above a bridge we could continue to work on seperately.  Could you support an alternative similar to the current one up for debate but that included these modified items?  Would like to see some feedback.  Thanks.

feedback That's not perfect, but better than the proposed alternative.  Post that on NGTO if you want lively discussion. <NT> Paddleman New
more NGTO...? I think we are all just ready for some sort of useful progess willdabeast New

smile So at least you'll have a couple hour lag time to find out if you're arrested selmaraid New
note There are three sattelite gauges along the Yellow River, so I guess they don't cost much, and they are ezwater New
smile The main reason is budget.  The USFS doesn't have $$ to pay for it.  But you could! <NT> Paddleman New
note I hope they're not going to use the hwy 76 gauge as the criterion.  They need a gauge at Burrells Ford. ezwater New
note I'm not reall "for" the idea of river level preconditions but if it must be... willdabeast New
note The main reason I favor a flow limit for the headwaters is the amount of junk paddling I see on section 3 ezwater New
sad Really, I'm not even sure why we should discuss this now.... Paddleman New
note Nothing better to do than kick the can around willdabeast New
