My buddy and I cruised up to Summersville wv Saturday, not really sure what to expect.  We're both new, and we came away with some sweet deals. Managed to get a Kayak for my wife and I @ $200.00 a piece, my buddy found one too.  We headed out to a nice little pond near by yesterday, and completely failed to roll. Lol!

So excited to finally have a boat of my own.

Now then: On rolling... We checked out some youtube videos and stuff, and were trying to do a "C" to "C" roll...  didn't work out so well. we used the prow of each other's boats as brace to do some hip snaps off of, and that seemed to make  sense, but man, rolling with just a paddle really didn't work. Any pointers? Things that got you over the hump?

We seem to get half way out of the water, and then right back under.
