A lot of fun runs are about 2 hours away. You can find more info on these rivers on AW site.....

Our standard run is Section 4 of the Chattooga (IV), Section 3 (III - II), Section 2 (I-II), it runs almost all  year -- when there's not a drought.

Little River Canyon in Alabama -- Suicide Section (IV - V), Upper Two (IV+ - III) , Chairlift (III - II)

Johnnies Creek (IV - V), (Teddy) Bear Creek (IV- III)-- tribs on Little River Canyon. These run after a good rain.

(Hairy) Bear Creek, GA (V)-- located in NW GA near Cloundland Canyon State Park

North Chickamauga Creek (IV) in Chattanooga

Tallulah River GA- Dam release (IV - V)

Ocoee River TN - Dam release (III+) play!

Overflow Creek (IV - V) after a good rain

Cheoah River - IV - III, Dam release, 2.5 hours away and worth every gallon of gas.

Local Atlanta sewage and pollution stew favorites:

Rottenwood Creek (good name)
Sope Creek (cuz your gonna need some)
Sweetwater Creek (NOT)

You can find almost every level of paddling experience within 2 hours of Atlanta. Check out AmericanWhitewater.org for an almost complete list of rivers.

CHeck out the Atlanta Whitewater Club to hook up with locals.

Hope this helps -- Rob Maxwell
