Life really depends on where you work. The more drive time = the less play time. The Highlands area in North Denver, has an awesome night life and easy feel. Boulder is OK, but it's super expensive and far from everthing else.
Golden has everything you are looking for, and all the major ski resorts are up I-70. Get a Colorado Pass quickly before they stop selling them for the season. $595 Breck, Keystone, A-Basin, Vale, and Beaver Creek. Figure $80-90 each visit for a day pass. The only skiing you can do after work in CO is Keystone or Echo Mountain (Terrain Park). The mountains out here are real sized and there's no way to bring the sun out at night. Save your night skiing for east coast visits. If you are really hitting the hill, you'll be done and back at the bar by 2:30 anyways. Better bet is to ski early and work late.
All depends on where you live. Just hope you don't work in the DTC, or you'll be stuck on the highway everyday.
All the best trails and rides are on the west side of Denver. North, South and East of Denver is flat. West is where you want to be... Unless you have to pick-up a friend at the Airport, then just suck it up and drive the extra 60 miles. But you don't want to live there. |
