Im still a teenager thats in high school. I don't have $1000 to spend on a dry suit and my parents aren't going to buy me more stuff for kayaking. I don't want to spend 600 on a decent dry suit and have to spend another 200 when spring comes on a dry top. I've asked the splash pants question before and everyone always tells me to get a drysuit, i would if i had the money but a drysuit is out of the question completely. I only have a little money that i got from working over the summer and I also still have to buy other random, ridiculously over priced things...like a good throw rope, tow rope, gloves, and on and on....anyway I've got my choices down to where its affordable but im not getting junk. For a drytop ive got it to the IR comp lx or kokatat tropos helix or peak uk delux long hd and then for pants im down to the IR splash pants, kokatat whirlpool bibs, and the peak uk storm pants. Which do you think is the best combo. and if i go with one of the pants instead of the bibs, what do I wear under them. Thanks!

disagree Safest bet for winter paddling. Who "plans on" swimming? Cold water kills quickly. <NT> Red5 New
note don't plan for it but prepare for it. <NT> donutboy New
note i meant if you dont have a roll, swimming multiple times on a river. you would plan for that clay54 New
disagree It really depends how often/how cold/where you paddle in the winter that determines the need for a drysuit HaIrBoAtR New
disagree Funny you consider a drysuit a necessity.... BugMeNot New
