Last time this happened, they found a last minute "funding partner" to keep the gage online. It looks like a "partner" has pulled out of the funding.

I hate to be the one shouting for everyone to write letters to the USGS, cuz I feel like I wore out my welcome with my daily Upper Chattooga rants. So, I'll leave it to Mark C. to organize a letter writing campaign.

Don't forget, the people downstream of the gage depend on it to forcast flooding. The gage is not only useful to boating, our friendly TU anglers, depend on it as well for fishing. I suggest e-mailing the chamber of commerce in the area to let the know how it will impact their tourist dollars. Don't forget the forest service, Trout Unlimited and the USGS to help save the gage.

Again, Mark, get off your lazy butt and lead the charge!

I don't think I'm the guy to contact TU right now, but I will e-mail the USGS.

Thanx -- Rob "retired ranter" Maxwell
