And that is with playing in the winter time and being upside down a good bit. If money is not a problem them buy a drysuit but you could use the extra $$ for other paddling gear (at least that is how I look at it). I have Kokatat dry pants (similar to the Whirlpool bibs which you can check out at the outdoorplay website). I think I paid about $100 and it looks like they have gone up a bit to $180 so I don't know what to say really. If you don't already have a dry top then you might want to spend the $$ for the dry suit as it looks like you can get one for not much more than the bibs and a dry top combined. The point about being able to just use the top when you have the combo is a good one though. There have been times when I just brought the bibs along in a dry bag just in case on days when I was not sure about the temp. forcast. The only thing I would make sure to do if you go with the bibs and is make sure they have the double-skirt feature so that they can "seal" with your dry top. |
