I've taken out the EZ thigh braces probabaly a dozen or so times. Try holding the boat up on a table or saw horse, on it's side. Insert one arm into the cockpit and hold the plastic nut and thigh brace in place (with the same hand). Do not worrying about lining up the thigh brace properly, actually only line up the plastic nut and bolt first with the thigh brace flipped reverse of how you are going to eventually line it up (i.e., front of the thigh brace will be flipped back towards the paddler).
