I did the Rio del Yaque Norte Gorge section a couple of years ago. It remined me somewhat of the Upper Yough. We were hooked up with Rancho Baiguate which is probably your best bet for info. They are located right near the river. We were just traveling around the DR....not on a kayak specific trip. The DR is very friendly....don't listen to some of the BS handed out by the all inclusive resorts or those who stay at them. They lead you to believe it's very dangerous outside the resort. Not so. My wife and I traveled all over using local transportation and never had a problem.
