I have a very reliable river roll.  I haven't swam while running the river in a long time.  My problem, however, is that I sometimes find myself surfing a great wave for an extended period of time.  My heart is racing and I'm breathing heavy from surfing, spinning, etc...  When I do get off the wave/hole  its usually from being trashed, flipped vertially and left in an awkward rolling position.  If I miss my first attempt I get so desperate for air that I swim.  This has happened three times now, twice on the Ottawa and once on the Lower G.  Any ideas on how to correct this problem?  I guess I shouldn't be such a hole hog...  Swimming in a pool every week might help too.
