Looking to do a 6 day canoe trip in the early spring. Something in the mountains with beautiful scenery maybe interspersed with rapids. Not an everglades or suwannee river type thing.
Thanks,
Ian

I think Chattooga is the usual reply to this question....

The French Broad may be a consideration.

Radford VA to BoZoo WV is a good 4-5 day stretch. Mostly class II, with just a few IIIs, but really bueatyful.

If you can mix mountains and swamps, consider the Flint in Georgia.

Or, anything called Greasy Creek, because you'll need the lubrication to deal with the drought.

4-5 days to go from Eagle Rock to Snowden on the James is a good stretch.

Can you float the Clear Fork on down into the Big South Fork, or does Clear Fork connect somewhere else?

The Clear Fork and the New come together to form the Big South Fork of the Cumberland...
