I've only been using this a little while. If I'm in cold glacial water with the camera in my life jacket pocket, regular alkaline AA's seem to get low after about 30-35 min of filming. I get closer to an hour per pair if the camera is warm. I haven't tried the rechargeable NiMH batteries I have for my digital still camera in it yet. I usually get a lot longer life with those in my digital camera.

I've had it on two runs where I got 40 to 60 short clips for a total of 30 to 35 minutes on a set of batteries. This is ususlly enough for a decent 3-5min youtube edit. I did find that image quality is pretty bad if you zoom in, as it is only digital zoom. Quality is pretty good at 640x480 if you film at widest lens setting.
