They had the lake above the putin down lower than I've ever seen it all week before the release.  When they opened the spigot Saturday morning, a ton of sediment got stirred up I guess.  That might also explain some of the dead fish.  There's usually maybe 50-100 cfs going through the river at all times, seeping out the bottom of the damn.  The lake was so low during the week, there was no water going through the river.  I've never seen as little water in the river as I did during last week...  I did see a really cool family of otters playing on a rock in the middle of the doldrums - stopped and watched for 20 minutes, they were having a blast!
