I bought a IR comp top for a sweet deal at Gauley Fest. It's a semidry with the neoprene collar. It's 3 layer laminate, and very dry. I hang upside down for a while to cool off sometimes and the only thing in this top after a run is my sweat. It feels like extra flotation when you're upside down, like a drysuit. I've been more than impressed with it. I could not justify spending over $200 more for a Kokatat Rogue. OTOH, the P.O.S. NRS Motion semidry top it replaced was worthless after the first run! It's fleece lined, so needs to be washed on occasion. I did the typical laminate wash deal ... warm water, powder detergent, gentle cycle in a front loader. Even tried treating with TX direct in and Revive it. It still leaked like a sieve, tape falling off all over it. It was only washed maybe 5 times in the year that used it. Just got worse and worse. Should have replaced it in the spring. And that top was $200! Also bought a Motion for my daughter. Her's was even worse. For the drysuit I went with Kokatat GMER. I figure drytop weather is not very extreme... typically not serious enough to not survive and I always wear hydroskin FJ underneath anyway for backup. But if it's cold enough for a drysuit, I'm spending the $ to make sure I have the best. My opinion anyway...
