I used the 303 brand fabric protectorant (get at REI and some Ace Hardware), not the gasket sealer stuff.  Spayed it on liberally.  Allowed several days to dry.  I hold up well.  Subsequent applications are not a problem.  Repeat as needed.  Saved me the cost of a new drytop too.

There was no need to iron, or put in a dryer like I heard posted here.  I would not do that.

note 303's great for gaskets (which you shouldn't heat if you can help it) but its not a DWR/fabric treatment. tcookson New
