After a couple of years paddling 15 degree and trying a couple of zero degree, I just went back to the standard 30. Which didn't effect my playboating or the infamous flatwater bow stalls or anything like that. The fact of the matter is that you will get accustomed to what ever you are using. The only place I notice a difference is on my offside backdeck roll, but standard offside rolling (assuming you are a righty) is made easier with a greater offset because the blade is angled up towards the surface of the water on your left blade, making it a bit easier. Another reason to stick with a standard feather is this: If you are on a class V run and break a paddle, which does happen, most people arent going to have a custom feather breakdown, so do you really want to paddle the rest of the way down a class V run with a paddle that has a feather that is throwing you off your game?
