I do think that those that represent the companies directly influence consumers decisions, just as with many issues.  If you meet and like a certain politician because he was sincere and courteous to you, you may start and continue to be a supporter.  As many of you have stated, most companies put out solid boats that are pretty comparable.  Because the members of Team Pyranha have always been very friendly (for the last 12 years starting with BJ, Dinver, etc.) and continue to be so today (Demshitz) and the members of Team Jackson are great as well, I plan to only buy boats from these two companies in the future.  If they are going to invest in and "support" team paddlers who come up and talk with you at festivals, remember your name, let you paddle with them, try out their boats, etc.  then I am going to support the company by buying their boats.  They seem very sincere as well, unlike others I have met.  I recently got to boat with a few members of Team Pyranha at the Moose Fest and although I am not even close to the boaters they are, they allowed me to tag along and were very friendly.  I bet that Pyranha will appreciate their team allowing me to tag along because now I plan on buying a new burn.  I believe that is why a company supports a team.  What other sports allow you to participate with the pros?
