My double diamond was great to paddle (before the blade broke).
I liked it mostly because it was very light and stiff.  This had nothing to
do with the foam, but was due to the carbon fibre construction.

I really don't understand how people claim that one or two ounces of buoyancy
from the foam make any real difference in the paddle performance.  I expect that a pure carbon
fibre blade actually weighs less than a foam core blade, so the non foam core paddle would
actually accelerate better.

I guess you could also buy running shoes with helium in the cushions instead of air.
IMO, this is the same type of marketing.

The foam core paddles break, both Werner and AT.

I have broken them, I have seen others break them.
I paddle with people who used to use them, but they
switched after breaking multiple paddles.
