Maintenance is not too bad, especially if you get a spray can of marine polyuerthane (available at Walmart).  Pothole paddles are made locally and you can get it customized.  I got a Pothole 5 years ago and it has held up well.  So far I've just done a light refinishing about  every 6 months.  It could probably use a more intensive refurbishing now.  I don't do any serious creeking, but its got a lot of Chattooga, Tallulah, NFFB, etc. trips in it.
