It's a knit material, and is pretty stretchy.  When they do surfboards with it, they stretch it over the boat and tape it in place before wetting it out with epoxy.  That would be tough to do in a mold, so I'm not sure how well it would work.

Another though- If I was going to do a composite playboat (and I might someday)  I think I'd shoot for around 25lbs.  I feel like that's still light enough to get a good weight advantage, but would be a good bit more durable than something that's 19lbs.
