You should go check the park out. The left channel is Class II up top with pushy Class III beyond the second bridge. Thing big, boiling, circulating eddies. Don't fight them or you'll wear yourself out. They recirculate so just chill. These aren't your Nanty eddies.
The right channel is some good Class III wave train-like stuff with one class IV drop at the bottom ("Big Drop").
I always wear gloves out there to prevent road rash and I would definitely fill your float bags if you think there any chance of swimming.
