..has 3 different main sections (the inferno canyon, the terminator section, bridge to bridge/casa de emapanadas ).
People usually run one a day, or two together.
I have done the full river in one day , but it is a loong day and lots of action and I was beaten up at the end.
the puente a puente (bridge to bridge) section is the easiest, class 4 big water (in a normal level, january is usually ok, unless it rains a lot), continuous (some flats and class 3 between bigger rapids), and it is lots of fun. Not really dangerous holes in that section (again, at normal levels), two big undercuts walls, relatevely easy to avoid if you are on control,.
If you are out of the boat it will be long swim in most parts.
playboat run, or longer boat.
if you get there, I would rent a car in chile/argentina and have the full cultural experience, unless you like the tour style.
In Futa, there is a new hostel owned by gringo/argentinian Nathaniel Mack, and he could give you all the info you need about the river and probably make your shuttles and such.
the zambezi i heard has bigger rapids, but way more flats. the combo creeking in chile and futa is a great kayaking trip for sure.
