I don't love it. Every time I've been there, I've said
"ok, now I'm going to start having fun."
Well, the fun part just never happened.
That being said:The WWC is much different from the Nanty.
All the WWC drops have the same feel. The water
pours under the pool at the bottom of the drop, and there are reactionaries on both sides.
It is like, there is a little seam between the water coming down the chute, and the standing
pool at the bottom. A mini-boof stroke seems to help keep the bow out of the seam.
The water is very un-pushy and slow. In fact, the eddies feel to be moving faster than the
downstream water.
Regarding "no consequences". Somebody must have said that once, then everyone else repeated
it without thinking. I have seen many more injuries at the WWC than I have on the Nantahala.
Many abrasions, and injured hands, etc. It seems to be a bad thing to hit the pillars when
upside down.
Consider gloves and elbow pads.
