Were knockoffs of Snyders. Jim has been innovating in obscurity and near poverty for 25+ years. He was the first to develop an asymetrical design (Slasher) and developed the SO Terrick shape which you were admiring in the early 80s. Shouldn't your $$$ go to the innovator? I think this kid may be the same one who tried to sell squirt boats that he pulled off of a snyder mold a couple years ago. (Jim gave the kid the mold - from a failed design that he never wanted to see produced for sale - and was furious when the kid started trying to sell boats. He had given him the mold in friendship so the kid could dink around with making boats.)
Anyhow, even ask Mustang Sally - those paddles are no where near being a Jimistyx even if they look like one (and he is using excellent woods).
Anyhow, do with your $$ what you like, but I think it's a damn shame that we're so willing to disregard someone who has given so unselfishly to us for a few sheckels. |
