 NJ boaters question: Lambertville Wingdam @ 29000? New

Hi there.
I've heard rumors of there being good waves below the Lambertville/New Hope wingdam at something like this level. Any thoughts or experience? What happens to Smokestack Hole?
Also, how do you get back up? Isn't the water over the dam by that point?
