Not on my boat but in my years of guiding by far the dumbest. This question came in Denali National Park, Alaska as our raft trip floated past the Princess Cuise Lines Lodge. Guide points out the lodge, and then the lady pops the question, "well were do they park the boats", and he explained that we pulled the rafts out a couple of corners down the river, she said, "no not the rafts, the cuise ships". Now the Nenana river in August has good water even in August it is about 4,000 to 5,000 cfs. The Nenana also runs north to Fairbank in the Tanana, and then into the Yukon, and out to the Baring Straights. The guide had to explain to this lady, after the boat finished laughing, that 1st the river isn't that big, and that they would have to sail all the way around to the Yukon just to get to Denali. She never really did get why they didn't bring the ships in, wacky. |
