I want to thank from the bottom of my heart those persons who helped evacuate my wife on the backboard up Fishermens Trail at Carnifex Ferry State Park this past Saturday at Gauley Fest. It was an ordeal getting her up that slippery, steep slope.
I did not get all your names. Thanks to John, the Wilderness First Aid First Responder who organized the evacuation. Thanks to the outdoor photographer who loaned his cell phone to call the EMT unit. Thanks to Eugene with the ambulance service, JenCare and his assistant.
She was taken to Summersville Memorial Hospital for treatment. Her leg was not broken after all. She suffered a severe knee sprain when she fell down the trail.
The ride back to Kentucky was a little rough but she is doing fine. She is seeing an orthopedic surgeon today for further evaluation.
Thanks again to all you angels!
