Yes, studying and homework has been taking up a rediculous amount of my time also, and I hate it, but....Dude, dont take things so seriously.... Yes I feel for the loss of another fellow boater, but people die all the time driving or whatever. What matters is that we enjoy life, you cant dwell on the consequences. Yes I know this is cheesy and over quoted but the line from Braveheart "Everyone dies, not everyone really lives" is what I think it is what we should go by. Road cycling I think is equally or not more risky (I participate). Me---Id rather die in a creek or river than by the steering wheel of a stupid driver. Bike the winter and drop the pounds (I think I need to do this also), dont sell the boat, you will forget all this crap in the spring and summer when all the rivers are running and good times roll.
