First, from my experiences for things with obstacles, its best to have a creek boat. You can hit piles of snow and get like 6' of air, and you never feel a thing when you hit.  With the legs inside you don't fly off.  Also, take a paddle with you, preferable an old one.  That way you can brace when you need too and initiate 360 so spins and stuff.  Have fun, and its probably a good idea to wear a helmet.
