I got an early morning run down the Upper this morning, and the folks who took off just behind me returned to the parking area to find their vehicle left with 2 flat tires.
They aren't keyholders, and apparantly no one was around to let them in, so they were parked in one of the WRC spaces. Someone let the air out of the front two tires of their car.
Now, maybe they should have had a key, but they were within their rights parking there (of course WRC would have been within their rights towing them, since they weren't hunting or fishing, but that's another issue). Whoever is responsible sure didn't do much to encourage them to chip in. If it had been my car, I'd have said "screw you guys, I'm taking my boat and my money to another river" but they sounded like they indeed do plan to buy a key, but didn't know they needed one until they got to the gate this morning.
Believe it or not, there are people who don't read BT or hang out with Green locals that don't know a key is needed, they only know about the run from a guidebook, or some buddy who ran it years ago. These people could be encouraged to come and play (and help pay) or we can just tell them to fuck off (apparantly what someone decided to do this morning).
Luckily, their tires were just deflated, not slashed, so they were only out the 45 minutes it took me to go home and get a bicycle pump for them to blow them up again. Whoever's responsible, just remember that karma is a bitch sometimes... |
