Dwayne Styles. I was there yesterday morning with three paddlers and I didn't have my creek boat so I was just going to run shuttle for them. Both Ben and I have keys but since I was just going to drive the car back down Ben pulled off the side of the road to just pull the boats out so we didn't have to hassle with the gate. And this guy starts walking down the dirt road that goest the put in yelling" cant you read and Be trys to tell him yeah the sign says no parking. But we were not in the drive way and had no intention of leaving our car and Ben tryed to explain this to the guy. But the guy was just yelling to harrass him and didn't want to listen. I am very supprised that Ben, Heath and Ted stayed so calm and mannaged to talk to the guy with everything he was yelling at them. He told us how this side of the street was his and had been for 70 years and how he had asked the state to give him money to pave the road but he only had a 30% share and he needed 50% to recieve funding and he talked about a money making scheme he had had to shuttle paddlers down road to the put in but the government had probably guessed his intentions which was why the turned him down. To me he sounded more mad that the lady across the street was making money and he wasn't he even handed Ted a buisness card which was given to me to hold onto. Those cars were already parked when we were there and when he was indicating his property they were not parked on his half. But he was extremely irate at first and it wouldn't supprise me if we had pulled up just after he had let air out of ther tires. |
