If you've got a creeker and are familiar with it, I would reccommend it.  It will be a lot more fun.  I could easily take my Slick Stick down it, but I always take my creeker just cuz I love boofin soooo much, and the are a ton if you have a good guide.  Also, for your first time, it will be nice to be able to blow right over the holes rather than spend most of your day watching the sky and then counting fish.  : )

I also agree that you need to be solid in class IV and proficient in eddy hopping.  The Upper Yough is a run that you break down.  30, 50, 75 feet at a time, eddy to eddy.

Lastly, ALWAYS be aware if upstream traffic...its gonna be thick up there this weekend.  Be sure you know thats coming at you before you peel out of that eddy!
