Let me turn this around...  why do you think that America is blameless when many of history proves otherwise? Fanatism?

We shall see what kind of "free" elections the Iraqis will have. We shall see if the US occupier forces will leave after all. Before that no one can talk about liberation. I see absulotely no sign that the US is giving up on its idea of permanent occupation of Iraq - coupled with a puppet regime. The saboage of the UN/Brihami selection process had well confirmed that. The US had again managed to plant its stooges into decision making positions.

As I said the Germans were defeated not by the British or French but, mostly by the Russians. The US had joined the war party only when it become quite strategically obvious that the Germans were being stopped by the Russians. The US did not wish to miss out on the victor's divident.

About the French connection:
Again, simply look at the clear fact. Look at what the French stated about the inspection process, about potential WMDs, about inflaming the Middle East by the war and by its predictable after-effects. Were they not exactly right in each of their predictions? I think they were. It was the American government who were proven to be deceitful, lying and in error, not the French or German or Russian or much of the sane world which opposed the war in accord with those major countries.
As to the propaganda about how much money they had invested, well, the US had just as much invested and more. So, that is realy not a good argument against the French.
