arms come in to the shaft at different angles. This angle is somewhere between 6' and 12' depending on where you hold the paddle and the width of your shoulders etc. This angle will be your neutral feather. If you have a paddle that is less than your neutral feather (ie 0') you will have to rotate your wrists in the opposite direction than we normaly would. I think that most people would find this awkward and possibly stressful on your wrists. Since in white water paddling we are not to concerned with wind resistance (the only advantage I can see for feather in a paddle)I think that getting as close to but not less than your neutral feather would be the best. I have a 15' bent shaft werner Double Diamand and love it. Eric
